Looks like a good description of what’s going on in the US at the moment.
As my old man will attest, I’ve got little idea when it comes to the machinations of anything to do with money (other than knowing it can be used to buy beer, food and accommodation), but things like this always remind me of a time I spoke with a financial adviser at one of these new-fangled ethical investment firms. He had a whiteboard, and the first thing he drew was the word “GREED” in big capital letters. He rattled on for fifteen minutes about one thing or another, most of his words flying right over my head. By the end of his explanation, it looked like there were hundreds of arrows all looping out and in to the big word in the middle of the whiteboard.
Greed.
I guess that’s all the explanation of capitalism that anyone ever needs. Now, where’s my VISA…
