blog.craiga.id.auChannel Ten to Launch 24-Hour Sports Channel

Apparently Channel Ten have been buying up the rights to sporting events in Monaco last week in order to fill a free-to-air 24-hour sports channel, to be launched next month in April next year.

In recent times, they’ve acquired the rights to the IPL (Twenty20 cricket), swimming, the NFL (U.S. football), MLB (U.S. baseball) and the NBA (U.S. basketball). Added to their existing rights to cover the AFL, U.S. Open and U.S. Masters golf, U.S. Open tennis, Nascar, and F1, it makes a pretty impressive line-up for the launch of a sports channel.

If the channel is successful, you can imagine them adding a lot more Australian content such as the NBL and the A-League to their roster.

Hopefully this means some footy panel shows which actually discuss footy.
