The housing market in Melbourne has fallen by an average of 3.3%, with large houses in Melbourne’s more affluent areas dropping around 10% or 15% of their values.
I’ve long thought housing prices, propped up by the government’s vote-grubbing first home buyer’s grant, were due for a tumble. Hopefully this is the beginning.
Unfortunately, two-bedroom inner-city homes have only dropped by 2.1%, which I guess means the rental market I’m interested in is unlikely to be effected for now.

By day, he works for ABC TV as a web developer. By night, he plays bass guitar in Look Who's Toxic. He also runs a little Unix Timestamp conversion site. There are plenty of other things he should be doing, but most of the time he's dreaming of what he'll do when he grows up while watching bad Star Trek spin-offs.
